Why do you work remotely?
The answer is cost. By visiting your site and getting all meetings done in a day, the consultant can work remotely for the rest of the time. This reduces the cost to you (lower rate and no expenses), reduces the cost to the consultant (no travelling time, being away from home) and reduces the cost to the environment.
Do you provide technical resources, DBA's etc?
The intention is to provide ongoing functional support, although we can also provide technical resources also. We do not provide any hosting services, but can recommend remote DBA support.
Wouldn't I be better just hiring someone?
Yes you would - as long as you can keep that person fully employed at all times. However many businesses want someone with the knowledge of a fully trained Senior Oracle Consultant, but can only afford the equivalent of an Oracle "key user". Or perhaps they only have enough work for that person for 1 week per month. At RHF we can combine those "1 week per month" into a full time role.
But if your consultant is working for multiple customers, how do I know my data is secure?
All contracts will include a confidentiality clause to protect your valuable information. In addition we would ensure that consultants do not work for customers who are competitors of each other.
So what would be your ideal customer?
A medium sized business that uses Oracle - perhaps recently upgraded or gone live. There is a need to identify how to use Oracle to its fullest extent, or undertake smaller sub-projects. Perhaps to help out when things get frantic - period ends for instance.
The emphasis seems to be on regular periods of work.
It is! The more regular the work the less we have to cover the cost of gaps, so the better the price we can pass on to you. However if you need some help for a short period perhaps as your own project goes live - then we are here to help.
